In this story, the reporter does a good job of asking the tough questions and showing the interviews that are hard to watch. He asks good questions and the people being interviewed give good answers. I think did a good job of not making them feel like screw-ups, but he still asks the questions that are tough for them to answer. The guy openly says he is going to die from it and he is  not phased by that and the girl is okay with the thought of death due to heroin because of how poorly her life is going. The reporter does a good job of making the viewer feel emotional for the people and see how sad it is that their life has turned out that way and how tough it is to get out of the rough spot, but it also shows how bad the repercussions of doing drugs can be. In the video was kind of uncomfortable to watch because they showed the wrong clips. They showed the mom of one of the kids just crying and it is uncomfortable to watch and less essential to the story because she doesn't give any information. While it shows good interviews and interview setup, there is not a lot of good questions asked and it may have been more beneficial to talk to some sort of scientist or someone who knows the impact of the drug and can give more information. If it weren't for the mom saying "...30 seconds after he sniffed it" then I would've thought it was a pill the whole time because they talk about how it starts with the pain pill opioid and then they just get addicted to them and kind of skip the whole transition into sniffing something. She talks about the Shooter for the whole 3 minutes without interviews or other soundbites which is impressive because it keeps viewers interested through the b-roll and articles that were shown where they highlighted specific things on the screen. she did a good job of showing everything necessary to know about the history of the hooter and what he was like 4 years ago. Since no one has an answer as to why he did it, maybe they could have pointed that out a little bit more as well as giving more details about the interview and the doctor. I didn't know what she meant when she said the doctor was on restrain or something like that and so it would've been helpful to clarify that to make it easier to understand on the spot. The story was well told and we had a good idea of what the situation was. The standup looked good and she was easy to understand. The interview was good as well and the interviewee gave very good responses to the questions. The reporter labeled the story 'Woman fakes seizure to avoid would be mugger that handed her a frightening note' and didn't elaborate on that at all which think drew most of the views to the story in the first place. Instead, she says the woman faked a medical problem and that was all of it. Another thing the reporter could improve was asking the yes or no question rather than giving the interviewee a question they could've gone more in depth with. They showed a lot of "B-roll" through the videos that the people they were video-chatting with sent in. I thought that even though it was hard for them to get good B-roll, they made it work with the footage they got and it was still able give the viewers a lot of information about what is going on. I think the reporter coulee used more footage from the actual hurricane instead of just the interviews that the people sent in, but at the same time it helped make it more personal. I think a little back story coulee been helpful to start off the story. This package shows interviews with 2 people closely related to the teen and gives a very good message out about how absurd the situation is. CNN does a good job of asking the right questions and demonstrating how a story can be made with just one interview of 2 people and pictures. They are able to make the package feel very personal to the audience and i think this is a good skill to have when producing news. The package created shows the interview, interviewee and the pictures during multiple scenes throughout the video which gives a very good understanding of the story as well. The creator of this package could've improved the footage chosen to be included in the package because some of the interviews were quite brief, but...
